Travelling to Russia, your departure
To plan your trip to Russia and before buying your departure ticket, it is important to consider the various mandatory paperwork and the time needed to obtain them.
- You must have a passport still valid for a minimum 6 months’ period
If you do have no passport, you must apply to the municipality where you live. The lead-time is about 1 month. You can follow the progress of your application by teleservice.
If you already have a passport with the 10 years validity period make sure that the expiry date (see above) does not intervene before the scheduled end of your stay.
- you must obtain a visa, issued by the consular Russian authorities. We can provide you the contacts of agencies in charge of obtaining the visas from the consular Russian authorities.
About 15 days to a month is required, depending on the type of visa, to acknowledge receipt to your home.
- A repatriation insurance is essential to obtaining the visa. You have a choice between several solutions.

- We are in charge of booking the flight for you in case you are subscribed to a UNIVOYAGE and UNIVOYAGE PLUS contracts.
In this regard, we ask you to inform us of your intention to visit Russia by email two months before the trip date.
NB: Regarding airline tickets purchased under UNIVOYAGE and UNIVOYAGE PLUS contracts, we consider the capital city of your country as the departure and arrival destination. choosing any other city than the capital city of your country, as a departure or arrival town, will be examined on request and considered on a case by case basis.
Travelling to Russia, your arrival
Right at your arrival time in Russia, UNIVIE partner agency will welcome you at the airport.
The agency ensures the shuttle from the airport to the free accommodation offered in the city centre, nearby the office. The shuttle and accommodation are included in your contract.

Travelling to Russia, your stay in Russia
As soon as you arrive (or the next day if you arrive during the night) UNIVIE partner agency will be at your side as much as you need it and during 5 days. During the daytime, an interpreter will be available to help you to talk with one or more subscribers of your choice if you wish.
Translation time supported by UNIVIE partner agency is maximum 8 hours a day maximum between 9:30 and 17:30 in the limit of 5 days for a total of 40 hours.
Travelling to Russia, your return
After spending some time to take stock of the various meetings with the subscribers and the way you are feeling about each of them, we will take you to the airport.
Various information and tips
- exchange euros into roubles before leaving because you will definitely need cash upon arrival in Russia.
- because of the strong temperature variations according to the seasons and the regions, do not hesitate to contact us, we will advise you on appropriate clothing. (See Chapter “Information about Russia” / “In Russia, climate can be very cold”)
- no vaccination is especially required to travel to Russia.
- beware, the time difference with Russia is in a range of 2-9 hours depending if you are in Moscow or Kabarosk, located at the extreme eastern Siberia!
