Meeting a Russian Woman ? Yes…but how ?

After the exchange of correspondence now comes the time when you decide to meet!

This first meeting with a Russian woman will be decisive in the development of your relationship.

Two possibilities of meeting are available to you:

• either the subscriber comes to visit you

• or you go to Russia to meet her.

In both cases it is important to follow a few simple principles:

• first of all, pay attention to your physical appearance. It is an essential asset in your first interview. Very often the first image and the first sensation are kept in memory.
  So mind your presentation!
• Before your arrival, take care of yourself.
  Washed and groomed hair, a fresh shave and impeccable nails give a positive image and will help your correspondent to feel confident.
• Without being to ceremonious, it is also recommended to wear an adequate clothing.
  Avoid holes in your clothes and faded jeans, wax your shoes and do not wear in poor condition sneakers.
  Yet there is no need to rush and buy a new suit! A presentable and comfortable clothing, a shirt and jeans or a more conventional outfit with dress pants and shoes will be quite suitable.
  Do not hesitate to ask your friends and family about your appearance!
• Be punctual!
• Bring her a small gift: a bouquet of flowers will make her happy.

NB : no yellow flowers. No equal to thirteen or even number bouquet of flowers.

Show her that you embody gallantry “à la française” ! Hold the door open for her, help her

to take off her coat and bring her chair closer when she tables.

She will appreciate all these little cares.

• Without being mysterious, try not to talk to much about yourself.
  Show that you are interested in her life and ask her some questions. Open the dialogue and let her talk.
• Avoid making comparisons among Western Europe and Russia.
• If you go to a restaurant, do not comment on the prices of the menu, you would sound just a little bit of a skinflint!
  Of course, there is no need to take her to the most expensive restaurant in town!
• Express your sensitivity, your goals, your future plans whether personal or professional.

If she enjoys your company, she will then ask you questions to know you better.

The adherent comes to visit you

• If possible, plan her arrival and make yourself available to spend as much time as possible with her.
  She is coming to know you and meet you in your city. She is ready to consider a lasting relationship; it would be inappropriate to be frequently missing.
• For her first trip to visit you, we recommend you to propose a hotel accommodation. This will confirm your seriousness and will help reassure her about your intentions.
  However, if you agreed for it during your various contacts, it is quite possible to receive her at home as soon as you have enough rooms, and let her stay in a guest bedroom for instance.
• Allow her to use your computer to communicate for free with her family by internet.
• During her stay, let her discover your way of environment so that she can situate herself in a life with you.
• Introduce her to your friends and if possible to the important people in your family, she will appreciate it.
• Depending on the city and region where you live, do not hesitate to show her the curiosities and remarkable sights of the area.

Practical information

For the adherent as well as for yourself, a passport and visa are required to travel.

If you do not have any passport, inquire it to your local council at least a good month in advance.
